Over the last five plus years. I have maintain my Friends and Family Photo sharing site. And one day about two years ago, I had the unpleasant discovery that my side was targeted by those annoying notorious spambots. After I went through my entire site deleting all of prOn spam postings from the comments area. The every next day, more of those prOn spams would replace the ones I just deleted the day before.
As I got more overwhelmed and Frustrated of Purging thoses bombardment spam postings. I eventually had to go with the option by, only Friend and Family could sign up to be member for my site. After I went with this Whitelist approval membership. I have complete cut down the spam postings by 100%.
