MLS commissioner Don Garber said the deal was signed roughly five minutes before a press teleconference that started several minutes after its scheduled 1 p.m. ET start. The agreement came on the heels of talks that had intensified over the past week, with player representatives flying to Washington, D.C., to join the sessions. Discussions went late into the evening and early morning Thursday and Friday night. |
