The San Francisco Giants won the NL West on Sunday, by beating the San Diego Padres 3-0. The much awaited SF Giants NL West clinch came down the wire in the last day of the regular season. After the San Diego Padres take the first two game in the series that put the SF Giants against the wall.
The first run came from the unexpected contribution from SF Giants starting pitcher Jonathan Sanchez when he hit a triple off San Diego Padres rookie Mat Latos. It was followed by an base hit of Freddie Sanchez allowing the San Francisco Giants starting pitcher to score the game's first run.
Aubrey HuffAubrey Huff followed with a double and allowed Freddie Sanchez to score another run score 2-0.
San Francisco Giants catcher Buster PoseyBuster Posey homered in the 8th inning that put them ahead to 3-0 score.
It is the first NL West division win for the San Francisco since 2003
