Multichannel News directs our attention to a notice on the DirecTV website that indicates the company plans to raise rates 4% during 2011, in addition to numerous fee hikes. Most TV packages will be seeing the 4% bump starting in February, and there will be also changes made to various "optional" services, the details of which Directs won't be disclosing until February."It's never an easy decision to raise prices," says the company, adding that "Unfortunately, the increasing costs we pay to carry the channels you see sometimes force us to adjust our prices."
